Charles Jones has been in education as a teacher of Social Sciences for over eight years and also serves as a School Board Trustee in Pleasanton after winning his race as the Democrat endorsed candidate. Within his union, the California Teachers Association, he has championed the goals of the Democratic Party as Vice Chair of CTA Democratic Caucus. As a member of the National Education Association he has fought hard to further LGBTQIA rights on campuses and also fought against school closures which disproportionately impact communities of color. For the Alameda County Democrats he has served as both an Associate and Alternate member to support work within the party at the county level.

Jones is very active in the community through membership in clubs like the Tri-Valley Dems, Indivisible, and helping support organizing campaigns to get Democrats elected as far back as 2008. He has served on committees in the past that made decisions on school district properties and local curriculum with a data driven mindset and lens for community equity impact.

As a labor member and educator, Jones has supported various policy initiatives including: lobbying for more UC’s and CSU’s in areas seen as college deserts; pushing for improved funding for our SPED students as well as our Multi-lingual learners; and advocating for community schools that better support the needs of the neighborhood they reside in.

If elected Charles Jones looks forward to continuing to support the goals of the Democratic party, continuing to build a strong bench of Democrats in our district, and continuing to push for transparency and accountability among our elected leaders and officials.

Charles Jones is proud to be a part of the #unityvalues slate endorsed by Assemblymember Bauer-Kahan and would love to have your support!
