Hi! My name is Joey Mauro, and I am from Pleasanton. I am asking for your vote for California Democratic Party ADEMs in AD-20, along with the other People Powered Progressives of AD-20. I am running as a young, progressive organizer ready to hold our party accountable. Younger generations must have a seat at the table to address the urgent challenges facing our communities today and in the future.
Although I am one of the younger candidates running, I have years worth of experience organizing to make these changes. From helping to get candidates elected all across the East Bay, to organizing students to support striking workers at UCLA, to advocating for an inclusive health curriculum at Pleasanton Unified School District, I have shown a commitment to bold, progressive values.
As your Delegate, I will amplify the voices of working families and younger generations by voting for leaders, policies, and measures that prioritize people over profits. As many of us reflect on what happened in this last election, we only have a few weeks to decide the leaders that will be taking us into 2026. While the youth turned out strong for Democrats in 2020, many stayed home in 2024. We cannot count on their votes, and must do everything we can to organize for Democrats up and down the ballot, otherwise, we will continue to lose seats up and down the ballot.
Healthcare, housing, and education are fundamental rights. I stand against corporate greed and policies that deepen inequality. In that light, we must commit to supporting candidates who are ready to fight for somebody who they don’t know. As delegates, we will choose who to endorse for CADEM Chair and party offices, as well as Governor and state row offices. I pledge to select candidates who will fight for these bold, progressive values.
Thank you for taking the time to read this statement, and I hope I have earned your vote. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out at my email: joeytmyk1017@gmail.com, or my phone (925) 998-3010.
