I am running to represent you in the California Democratic Party, as Assembly District Delegate for CADEM’s State Central Committee, AD-16.
In the spirit of democracy, I approach my political organizing work with everything I have … beginning in 2016. In 2020, I was the Area Director – Bay Area for the California Democratic Party. In 2021, I led the statewide paid phone bank teams for the Stop the Recall.
In 2022, I co-founded the Bay Area Coalition to harness the power of Bay Area activists to win elections. As an all-volunteer group, we have been joined by more than 50 Bay Area and California partners. To promote our volunteer actions, we created Training and Speaker Series programs. Collectively we knocked on 112K doors in CD13 and CD22, with more than 26K conversations. Our phone banks completed almost 9K volunteer shifts, with 5 million calls made and 68K conversations.
My personal focus was canvassing in the Central Valley, organizing over 70% of all volunteer Central Valley canvass shifts in close partnership and coordination with CADEM and campaign staff. I held 43 weekly Yes, You Can(vass) sessions, training 2,300 new canvassers. Our canvassing approach was distinguished by well-organized events, including individualized help by volunteer concierges. I coordinated canvasser stipends donated by California elected officials and individual donors to help defray out-of-district canvasser travel costs to CD22.
Along with my work for the Bay Area Coalition, I was an elected district level delegate to the 2024 Democratic National Convention. I am co-chair of CADEM Organizing Committee, Grassroots Collaboration Project steering committee member, California Grassroots Alliance founding member, and Volunteer Activism Chair of the Democratic Party of Contra Costa County.
My work has informed my belief that every person who supports the Democratic ticket and our Democratic values can find a welcoming “home” in the CA Democratic Party. Every voice matters and it is my intention to represent AD-16 to organize, engage, and activate voters. As a Delegate, I will continue and broaden my leadership role to collaborate with activists, groups, volunteers, neighbors … and voters.
