South Carolina has been a solid Republican state for Presidential and US Senate. In 2020 South Carolina and Texas are leaning Republican. It has substantial African American voters (0.9M) who has been disenfranchised. Reclaim Our Vote added South Carolina to their target in late summer.
Voting Information
South Carolina’s Early-In Person: “Absentee In-Person” voting
- October 5 – November 2, although exact dates and hours might vary by county.
- Voters can go to the registrar’s office, complete an application for an absentee ballot, and vote — all at one time. (Some counties offer more than one location.)
- Photo ID is required.
Early by Mail/Absentee Voting
- One witness is required for the voter’s signature.
- The completed absentee ballot can be delivered in person to the county registrar’s office or to extension office by November 2nd or by mail no later than Nov. 3rd.
- Absentee ballots may not be delivered to a polling place on election day.
Election Day Voting
- Polling locations are open from 7am to 7pm on Election Day.
- On election day you must vote at your assigned precinct.
- Photo ID is required.
- Curbside voting is available for voters who cannot enter the polling place or stand in line due to age (65+) or physical handicap.
