#BansOffOurBodies Rally Follow-up

Thank you to those who joined our #BansOffOurBodies rally on May 2, 2022. If you missed watch the video below.

We adopted National Indivisible call for action, and came up with the following.

1. Roe is still the law of the land. Abortion is still legal and organizations need donations. 
   • Planned Parenthood Mar Monte is ours and serves middle CA through Northern NV. 
   • National Network for Abortion Fund is in almost every list and serves nationwide.
2. Ensure we win in November. Ultimately we need to legislate at the Federal level. Keeping the Democratic majority in Congress is essential.
   • Join Swing Left Tri-Valley for national electoral campaigns. 
     • SLTV is currently making calls Saturday 10am for state races in AZ, and primaries NC (May 17) and GA (May 24). Sign up
     • SLTV will start canvassing in the Central Valley soon. Follow their social media feeds to be the first to hear about opportunities.
   • Please make a donation supporting organizations in CA-22, which is a California Congressional district that can be flipped from red to blue, at https://secure.actblue.com/donate/centralvalleymatters.
   • Many organizations including Livermore Indivisible offer postcarding.
3. Start talking to everyone you know about the extremist Republican Supreme Court. 75% of people and 53% of Republicans believe the choice to get an abortion should be between a pregnant person and their doctor.
4. Keep showing up. 
   • Livermore Indivisible hosted a rally, over 40 people showed up, and earned local media coverage (Livermore Vine, Livermore Patch). We need to keep making our voices heard.

5. CA leads to protect Reproductive Freedom. 
   • California Future of Abortion Council works in collaboration with policy makers, researchers, advocates, providers, patients, and key constituents to determine potential challenges in the state and recommend solutions that will continue to provide access and stability for both Californians and those who may seek services here from out of state. They are supporting 13 bills. 
   • Planned Parenthood Advocates Mar Monte (501c4) is advocating 8 bills.
