Working America Campaign- Write letters to change voting issue priority to Health Care!
Working America is a community affiliate of AFL-CIO (American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations)-union for those without a union in workplace. Since 2003, they knocked on 22 million doors, and recruited 3.5 million members. Their targeted population for the letter campaign is working class Americans without cable subscription or college degree. Their study found when the voters are reminded about health care as a focus issue just before they vote they are more likely to vote Democrats at the rate of 5%. They are targeting 1.33 million voters to gain 9,730 votes in each race. Planned mail date is Dec 23. You will need to supply envelops, stamps and writing materials. We recommend you to use your own health care story for your letters. If you prefer, you can use your own nonpolitical or regular postcards. Please remember these letters can not mention the election or candidates.
- If you are ready to join their campaign please sign up at workam.org/VolunteerGA. You will need to commit and print 100 letters, and the instruction will be emailed to you.
- If you are not ready to commit to 100 addresses or you can not print letters, please sign up at bit.ly/WAGAletter, and request your letters using the form bit.ly/2020Writing. Swing Left Tri-Valley will print your letters, addresses and instruction for you to pick up. You will need to pick them up in Tri-Valley or print your own.
If you need help on your health care story or have question please email Swing Left Tri-Valley.
Vote Forward Campaign- Write letters to Get Out the Vote in GA Runoff!
Swing Left Tri-Valley volunteers wrote thousands of letters earlier this year mainly to register voters. We moved to ROV postcard campaign because under the Covid19 pandemic voters should get contacted and informed how to vote safely using vote by mail and/or early vote instead of going to the polls on the election day.
For GA Runoff their voter registration addresses were gone in less than 2 hrs, and absentee ballot addresses are also all adopted. Close to 900K GOTV addresses are available as of Nov 25, 2020. To write with Vote Forward visit their website at https://votefwd.org, create an account, adopt addresses on their dashboard, and mail completed letters on Dec 7.
Reclaim Our Vote Campaign– write postcards to help empower voters of color and fight voter suppression!
RECLAIM OUR VOTE (ROV) is organized by the nonprofit 501(c)3 Center for Common Ground of Virginia, with the help of the NAACP, Black Voters Matter, VoteRiders, DemLabs, Mi Familia Vota and other organizations. Thousands of Reclaim Our Vote volunteers around the country have canvassed, phoned, texted, and written postcards – first to make sure voters of color are registered to vote, and then to encourage them to vote during elections by offering directions and free rides to the polls.
In 2020 its goal is to increase turnout among voters of color by at least 20% over 2016 in at least 4 states in Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Texas where voters of color comprise more than 20% of the population. To learn more about the campaign please watch the ROV video at our 2020 page.
ROV distributed 6.4M addresses before the 2020 general election and another 2.5M for the GA runoff. There is no campaign ongoing.
